EDL have the latest in CNC turning machinery & technology which enables us to undertake precision CNC turning from solid models including castings. Our CNC precision turning facility enables to machine large diameter castings and components.
The capacity ranges from 650mm to 2m between the machining centres, enabling us to turn large and heavy components and castings to customer specifications. Much of our work comes directly from our foundry and we are experts at setting datums and producing balanced castings suitable for high precision applications such as turbines, generators and aerospace projects.
EDL specialise in high quality precision components for a wide range of parts including bearing receiving internal and external bores, mating surfaces and balanced rotary parts. Combined with X-ray inspection and flaw detection for castings and a dedicated CMM inspection facility, EDL can produce parts for the most demanding of industries. EDL operates a dedicated quality control service for the manufacture of casting products and components. The inspection department which is staffed by five permanent highly skilled and experienced engineers, is fully equipped to handle all dimensional inspection processes, as well as facilities for non destructive testing as below.

It is the end of an era for Engineering & Developments Ltd at Lymington. The final pieces of equipment left the site in the 1st week of May 2023.
Onwards now to the next evolution of Engineering & Developments as it merges into Precision Aluminium Casting & Engineering (PACE) in Southampton.
