Engineering & Developments has a long history in the manufacture of castings and machined components for the automotive industry, including classic car rebuild and restoration, motorsport and specialist vehicle manufacture. Each area needs precisely conforming parts delivered on time, and we are well equipped to be highly responsive to our customer’s requirements.
With such a wide range of capability in one place, we are well placed to help at the design stage, providing input on suitable materials and manufacturing processes. An understanding of the project or programme requirements is important in finalising part details, materials and methods.
Examples of parts include gearbox housings, engine casings, inlet manifolds, pistons, shafts, brake calipers and hydraulic pump components. Materials range from cast aluminium, brass and bronze to solid stainless, high tensile steel and plastic.
With our AS9100 quality system and in-house heat treatment and NDT, we can manufacture parts from drawing to finished component without leaving the factory.
EDL operates a dedicated quality control service for the manufacture of casting products and components. The inspection department which is staffed by five permanent highly skilled and experienced engineers, is fully equipped to handle all dimensional inspection processes, as well as facilities for non destructive testing as below.
Depending on your requirements, we can offer a wide range of inspection programmes to suit the product.

It is the end of an era for Engineering & Developments Ltd at Lymington. The final pieces of equipment left the site in the 1st week of May 2023.
Onwards now to the next evolution of Engineering & Developments as it merges into Precision Aluminium Casting & Engineering (PACE) in Southampton.
