Engineering & Developments has over 60 years experience in the manufacture of non-ferrous castings and precision machined castings, components and assemblies, combining all this capability on one site. We use modern technology and processes to achieve the highest standards of dimensional accuracy and material conformity.

We operate in the defence, aerospace, marine, oil & gas, motor sport, medical, commercial, architectural and other specialised industrial markets. Drawing on our considerable manufacturing experience we can assist customers in the selection of manufacturing process and design detail to minimise cost and improve ease of manufacture.

EDL have quality management systems in place throughout all stages of component and casting manufacture. We take great care in our customers’ products and have therefore invested heavily in the following additional capabilities: Heat treatment, Dye Penetrant and X-ray inspection of castings.

Precision Casting

EDL specialise in the manufacture of complex precision castings in various aluminiums, bronzes and brasses, and ship worldwide. Our batch sizes range from 1 off to large batch quantities. We offer three primary casting processes:

  • Precision Sand Casting
  • Investment Casting / Lost Wax Castings
  • Gravity Die Casting

Quality Assurance

EDL operates a dedicated quality control service for the manufacture of casting products and components. The inspection department which is staffed by five permanent highly skilled and experienced engineers, is fully equipped to handle all dimensional inspection processes, as well as facilities for non destructive testing as below.

Depending on your requirements, we can offer a wide range of inspection programmes to suit the product.
